A free club for founders · based in Copenhagen

You know how to tell your story. Now put the numbers behind it.

We teach founders how to build the financial story that backs up the business plan — and how to close the gaps before an investor finds them. Free, always.

What it is

The story gets you the meeting. The numbers get you the round.

Your business plan tells a story. Investors want to see the same story in the numbers.

Most founders are good at the first part. Almost nobody has been taught the second. And when a round falls through, nobody explains which part went wrong.

The gaps are usually the same few. A growth curve with nothing driving it. An amount that does not match what it is meant to pay for. Runway nobody has worked out. Small things, and all of them fixable — once you know where to look.

That is what the Club is for. We teach you how to build the financial side of your plan, and we show you the gaps investors find first.

You learn it from people who read these numbers for a living: investors, finance people, and founders a round or two ahead of you.

Not a course. Not a pitch event. Nothing to buy, and nobody selling. Just founders getting better at the half of the job no one taught them.

Why we exist

We started the Club to help founders raise.

That is the whole reason. Better financials, more founders funded.

Good companies lose rounds over things that are easy to fix and hard to see from the inside. We wanted somewhere founders could fix them together — before the meeting, not after the no.

So we started a club. Non-profit, run by its members, with one focus: learning and inspiring each other to build financial plans that bridge the business plan and the numbers behind it.

Non-profit

Entirely. Nothing is sold here, nobody pays to be in the room, and the Club has no commercial purpose of its own.

Member-driven

Members decide what we work on next. The programme comes from what the people in the room need, not from a syllabus.

Learning and inspiration

We come to get better at something, and to see how others did it. Nobody is pitching and nobody is raising in the room.

Copenhagen

We want to be a real part of the startup scene here — a group that knows each other and keeps showing up.

Over time we want the Club to be the place Copenhagen founders come to before a round — and the place the ones who closed it come back to, to tell the rest of us how they did it.

The ten questions

The ten things an investor actually checks.

These ten come up in almost every first meeting, and they decide whether there is a second one. We work through them together — what each question really asks, and how to answer it with your own numbers.

  1. Does the amount you are raising match the plan?
  2. What is your runway, today, in months?
  3. Can you defend your unit economics?
  4. What drives the revenue line?
  5. Where does the money go, and what does each part buy?
  6. Do the historicals tie to the accounts?
  7. Is the cap table clean, and do you know your dilution?
  8. What happens if it takes twice as long?
  9. How many assumptions is the plan standing on?
  10. Can you explain every number without the deck?
The first event

It starts with one hour.

The first meeting is an introduction to the Club and a first working session on getting ready to raise money. One hour, nothing to prepare, and you leave with something you can use.

Event 01 Date: to be announced 1 hour

Welcome to the Club — and how to get ready to raise

First, what the Club is, who is in the room and how we work together. Then straight into the first subject: preparing to raise money — what investors ask first, and what you should have ready before you walk in.

Everyone who comes leaves with the planning model and the checklist, ready to put your own numbers into.

Apply now and hear the date first
  • 15 minWhat the Club is, why we started it, and what you get out of being in it
  • 35 minGetting ready to raise: the first questions investors ask, and how to answer them with your own numbers
  • 10 minWhat we take on next — members decide
After the first one

Then we keep going.

More sessions go into the calendar from there, working through the ten questions one at a time. Some are on-site in Copenhagen, some are online, so you can join from wherever you are. Members hear the dates first.

How we meet

Three formats, once we are up and running.

You bring your own numbers to all of them.

Format 01

Evening sessions

A founder who just raised tells you what they were asked — including the questions they could not answer. Then we go through it together.

Format 02

The other side of the table

Investors show you how they read a plan, and what makes them stop reading. Nobody pitches. Nobody is raising in the room.

Format 03

Working sessions

Small groups, one question at a time. A budget, a cap table, a use of funds. You work on your own case and leave with it in better shape.

What you get access to

You do not start from a blank sheet.

Members get the material we teach from. Not theory — the actual examples, models and templates you can put your own company into the same week.

01

Financial pitch examples

The financial part of real plans — ones that raised, and a few that did not. You see what a credible set of numbers looks like before you have to produce one.

02

Excel models for financial planning

A working model you put your own business into: revenue drivers, costs, hiring, cash and runway. Built so an investor can open it and follow it.

03

Templates and checklists

Use of funds, cap table and dilution, runway, and the ten-question checklist to run over your own plan before anyone else does.

All of it free, and all of it meant to be used straight away. Every session adds to the shelf, and members can ask for what they need next.

Who it is for

A good fit

  • Founders and CEOs of startups in Denmark and the Nordics
  • Raising within the next year, or planning to
  • Whoever owns the numbers: founder, co-founder or first finance hire
  • Happy to talk openly about what is not working yet

Not the right fit

  • Anyone whose reason for joining is to sell to the members
  • Companies with a finance team already in place
  • Looking for someone to build the model for you
  • Here for an introduction to an investor, not for better numbers

We talk openly about real numbers, so membership is by application. Tell us where you are and what you are working towards. We read every application and come back to you.
